Born in 1976, visual artist and writer, Christiane Schmalen adores to tell stories and invent characters or even whole new worlds.
She studied art at the European Art Academy in Treves and works in Vianden in the "Atelier Säitlech Verstoppt", a mutual project with Zahrée Veerman. Her favorite themes are animals (real and invented) and nature in general. She currently works in watercolour mediums, crayons, mixed media, chiefly in bright colours, but produces also digital work. She loves to experiment and adapts the used technique to the project, to match it in tune and subject.
